COURSE DESCRIPTION:
These course aims to provide users with the opportunity to develop and enhance their skills and knowledge in the field of Strategic Business Planning. The module includes the following topics: Levels of Strategic Business Planning, Theories of Business Strategy, Game Theory and Game Theory for Business; Theories of Competitive Advantage; and Strategic Management Theory and Processes


BACKGROUND:
Strategic business planning is important because it provides clarity, direction and focus for the organization and therefore, allows organisations to be proactive rather than reactive. It improves the organisation’s management process and decision-making processes by enhancing allocative, operational, information and dynamic efficiency, including achieving sustainable competitive advantage. Other benefits include an increase in market share, profitability and business longevity. The following sections discuss the relevant theories and concepts relating to strategic business planning, including key concepts of the Unified Theory of Business Strategy and how the Levant program can help you to complete a strategic business plan successfully.


LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Upon the completion of this module, users will be able to:
• Understand the theoretical and practical knowledge of strategic business planning to generate solutions to improve current practice.
• Examine the key challenges faced by strategic business planners and conceptualize a strategic response to overcome these challenges.
• Critically analyze information and utilises strategic business planning tools, improve problem-solving and decision-making abilities to achieve a competitive advantage within an organisation.
